My Musical Weekend
Ok, so I did that show on Feb 27 2009 at the White Eagle and it was fine but a little anti-climactic IMHO. The Stan band was the headliner and it just seemed like our energy was down and there's no sound-guy so we struggled a little to be heard. Still we had some good moments once we got going and our crowd stuck around even though Friday is a tough night.
Honestly I had a much better performance on Friday APril 10th at Slabtown (also with The Stan McMcMahon band) We had Nathan Jr adding guitar and harmonie and the same from Aaron SMith (another founding member) For the Slabtown show we had a soundman and we all have much more fun. May compliments from the audience too. It appears that I have officially joined the band and Nate will be there too, doing guitar and keys.
It was a busy weekend, first I had to sing with the choir at the Tenebrae service, then go to the Stan gig at Slabtow -with the amazing band The Welfare State and also The Oblik (some of whom were in The Empty Room)
Next day I had to work (don't like working Saturdays) THEN a warmup and show with Giant Bug Village at East End. The next morning I had to again sing with the choir for Easter Sunday, after the Sunday service I had a massage and engery-work session at Aequis. I found it interesting that on Easter Sunday, I had a fellow who looked like Jesus washing my feet. While I was on the table listening to the trancy music, that song 'Echoes' from Pink Floyd's Meddle album came on. I'm all like "sweet!"

You have more energy than i can imagine my self ever having, Paul. Indulge but enjoy. I am finding that i must very carefully choose my indulgences - otherwise i get into an obvious sort of enjoyment deficit... but it's - nevermind.
Of course enjoyment and indulgence come in many forms. Take "eudaimonia." Aristotle has something to say about this - and he's really fuckin old. Like, humans are. I have a purportedly (i'm not a scholar) good translation of his Ethics but here's the upshot: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eudaimonia
